Chick Ludwig and more

Oh Chick Ludwig, if only you had known the stir you would be causing with one simple note. Who is Chick Ludwig, you ask? Well he is the Bengals beat writer for the Dayton Daily news and a voter for the NFL's hall of fame, but that does not matter. To Memphis Tiger fans he is public enemy number 1. Why? Because he wrote something negative about DeAngelo Williams. Check out #3 here. When I read this on the show today we were immediately bombarded with calls saying that Ludwig was among other things "a clown" and that he must have made this up. What? Are you kidding me. That is insane. From his resume it appears that Ludwig is a very well respected writer and I'm quite certain he didn't get that way by making up stories about NFL draft hopefuls. I don't know for sure, but I would say that Chick holds no ill-will toward DeAngelo. I'm sure the info came from a source within the NFL and maybe even a scout. Does that mean that all scouts have questions about Williams. Absolutely not. But just because we all love DeAngelo and he has been a model citizen and hard worker etc. With the Tigers, that doesn't mean Chick didn't talk to a scout or two or even more that said there are questions about him. He's not saying all scouts have these questions, but the ones he has talked to have brought this up. Relax people, Chick is not making it up and he's not trying to hurt DeAngelo's stock. He is simply passing along info that he was given. The only team in CUSA that can beat the Memphis Tigers is the Memphis Tigers. This conference is real bad. Their is one great team(Memphis) 3 decent teams(UAB, UTEP, and Houston) and 8 horrendous teams(Rice has the best RPI of the 8 at #195). Among the decent teams I would venture to say none would finish in the top 10 in the Big East. The bottom line is that for the Tigers to lose they have to beat themselves. Even at UAB the Tigers should win comfortably. They are simply much better than UAB.NBA All Star notes:Andre Iguodala's dunk from behind the backboard was the best in NBA slam dunk competition history.Where the hell did the all star uniforms come from? Those were hideous.Shaq just gets it. I wish more professional athletes could figure out what Shaq seems have known for years. All you have to do is act a little goofy and have some fun once in a while and fans will love you. Shaq is great for the all-star game and great for the league. Lebron, Kobe and others should follow his lead.I have maintained that I would like to see the slam-dunk competition replaced by an 8-man "HORSE" tournament. I think it would be fun to watch. However, this year's dunk competition was pretty good so I think you may be able to keep it and just add a "HORSE" tournament.Good to see Pau Gasol grabbing rebounds all over the place. I wish he could have scored, but it nice just to see a Grizzlie player on the court.Have a good weekend.

Welcome

What's up everyone.I created this site when I was looking for information on the 2007 NBA All-Star game. All I could find was small amounts of information that was pretty useless unless I was looking for upper level nose bleed tickets for the Saturday rookie game at $2000 a piece. What I envision is a place where everyone can go to get information - When and where to get tickets, Where the parites are at and who's going to be there, the hotels the players are staying and gamble at, the events going on all week, hotel and travel deals to Sin City all-star weekend. This is my vision. Your one stop source for information about the game that you can't find on NBA.com. As I only have a few sources of information, I hope that others will be able to contribute to make those visiting the city that never sleeps for all-star weekend the best trip ever. This is a once in a lifetime history making event. Can you imagine? Playing blackjack with Yao Ming? Seeing Charles Barkley gambling $1000 a hand? Playing No Limit Texas Hold em' with LeBron James? Craps with Michael Jordan? Kobe and Shaq together? Not to mention, the parites that will be going on all over the strip. So if you are looking for information like I was, you've come to the right place. Bookmark this site and check back often or you might miss your chance to party with Allen Iverson. What was David Stern thinking?

NBA Insider: Our former Wolves always interesting (Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune)
Several Wolves of recent vintage were in the news this week, reminding us that we're missing out on some of the fun this NBA season: • The Wolves missed out what would have been the big grudge game between Stephon Marbury and Wally Szczerbiak last Sunday at Target Center because, of course, Szczerbiak was traded to Boston back in January.
